350Z carbon fiber hood - for better performance and improved looks

On its introduction in America in 2003 350Z achieved two distinctions. It brought back its makers Nissan in the North American market and it brought a sports car within the reach of an average customer. It proved that good performance could be combined with enjoyment. It is a small car that can seat two, and has a powerful engine and is known for sharp handling. In 2003 it was available only as a coupe but in 2004 a roadster version was also introduced. In 2007 seam-welded chassis, firm springs and shock absorbers, and improved aerodynamics were also provided in one version. In 2008 its coupe version was discontinued and in 2009 the roadster version was also dropped. During its tenure it remained a popular sports car.

Hood is a simple component of a car which does not need much of engineering, but even it can be used to improve the performance and looks of a car. Hoods of cars have been in existence from the earliest but hoods made of carbon fiber are a later innovation. Carbon-fiber is a light material which is also used in making 350Z carbon fiber hoods. Such hoods reduce the overall weight of the car. If a car is heavier more power is required to haul it. A lighter car will need less of power and will therefore consume less fuel in covering the same distance. It will lead to economy in running the car. Though carbon fiber hoods are light they are quite strong and durable. Moreover the weight is reduced over the front wheels of the car which is advantageous from another point of view. It gives a better balance to the vehicle which makes it easier to maneuver it.
